The next four days will be the most important milestone for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's legal career. Confirmation hearings by the Senate Judiciary Committee to be an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court—effectively taking over Justice Stephen Breyer's seat—started Monday with opening statements and will be followed by two days of Jackson being grilled by senators. The final day of the hearings will include outside witness testimony including by the American Bar Association that has already given Jackson an unanimous "well-qualified" rating.
