The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday blocked a district court order preventing the Navy from enforcing its vaccination mandate as applied to 26 Navy SEALs.

The court, in an unsigned order with three justices dissenting, granted the Biden administration’s request for a stay of part of the district court’s order that precludes the U.S. Navy from considering the SEALs’ vaccination status in making deployment, assignment, and other operational decisions. The justices’ stay remains in place until action by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on the government’s appeal.
