After a slow start to 2022 for law firm mergers, two notable Virginia firms are combining to become a major presence in the state. Woods Rogers and Vandeventer Black announced Wednesday they will become Woods Rogers Vandeventer Black.

With Woods' 80 lawyers and Vandeventer's 50, the combined firm will have 130 attorneys when the merger is finalized, making it one of the largest firms in the state, by Virginia headcount. Firm leadership said they were planning to have the merger finalized "as quickly as possible."
