Facebook and Dominion Voting Systems late Friday urged a federal appeals court to uphold sanctions against several attorneys who filed a lawsuit falsely claiming the 2020 election was rigged.

In a brief, the two companies, also joined by the nonprofit Center for Tech and Civic Life, said a magistrate judge didn’t abuse his discretion when he ordered Colorado attorneys Gary Fielder and Ernest Walker to pay monetary sanctions for filing a “patently frivolous” lawsuit.
