Jury selection got underway Monday in the criminal contempt of Congress case against Steve Bannon after a federal judge rejected multiple attempts by defense lawyers to delay the proceedings over pre-trial publicity.

Bannon, a former top adviser to former President Donald Trump, faces two counts of contempt for defying subpoenas from the U.S. House Jan. 6 select committee seeking testimony and documents.
