Every three years Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner rotates its managing partner to the position of firm chair and names a new managing partner. That means Anand Sharma will succeed Mark Sweet as firm chair until 2025. The 287-lawyer IP-focused firm has elected Erika Arner to serve as managing partner.

Arner is the lawyer who filed (and won) the first petition for covered business method review before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). She also helped organize the PTAB Bar Association, serving as its initial president-elect and second president.
