Senate Republicans criticized former O’Melveny & Myers partner Bradley Garcia as too young, and too inexperienced, to sit on a federal circuit court Wednesday, sparking a rebuttal from Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats, who said their GOP colleagues had no concerns with young nominees advanced by former President Donald Trump.

Garcia, 36, was tapped by President Joe Biden to replace Judge Judith Rogers on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, who is taking senior status in September. Garcia is among Biden’s youngest nominees, and would be the first Latino judge on the D.C. Circuit if confirmed.
