David Rody, a veteran former gang prosecutor in New York City, has left Sidley Austin to become a senior counsel in the criminal division at Main Justice.

CNN reported that Rody is set to be part of a circle of advisers at Main Justice to provide “high-level advice” on investigations related to former President Donald Trump. A Justice Department spokesman confirmed Rody had joined the criminal division, but declined to comment further on his role at the department.
