Morgan, Lewis & Bockius added yet another high-level U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission veteran to its roster of former government attorneys with the addition of Frederick Block, who had served as the SEC enforcement division’s supervisory trial counsel since 2012.

Block, who began at the firm Tuesday, said his private practice focus will not only be on client matters that are adverse to the nation’s top securities regulator, such as enforcement actions and investigations, but he also plans to focus on matters that don’t yet involve regulators, such as internal investigations and early-stage counseling with clients on the SEC’s approach to enforcement.
