In its first opinion on escheatment in three decades—and Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson's first majority opinion—the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Tuesday Delaware isn't entitled to unclaimed checks from MoneyGram Payment Systems Inc. that were purchased in other states.
