Womble Bond Dickinson is expanding its patent prosecution and litigation practice by adding an IP boutique with five lawyers based in Washington, D.C., New York and Raleigh.

Womble says it sees sustained demand in IP law. Preston Heard, leader of the firm’s patent prosecution & litigation practice group, said despite a global economic slowdown, IP work stays “consistent,” noting that the practice group has “weathered past downturns.”
