Three Republican-appointed judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit have been assigned to hear arguments later this month in the legal fight over the availability of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved abortion pill mifepristone.

Judges Jennifer Elrod, Cory Wilson and James Ho will hear the case May 17. Ho and Wilson were appointed by former President Donald Trump, and Elrod was named to the bench by former President George W. Bush in 2007.
