The abortion rights attorney who argued in the landmark case that led to the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade last year was confirmed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit on Tuesday.

The Senate voted 51-43 on the nomination of Julie Rikelman, the U.S. litigation director for the Center for Reproductive Rights.
