Holland & Knight is building out its intellectual property practice with the addition of three partners from Perkins Coie in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles, becoming one of the latest firms to hire within the practice area as IP disputes continue to stay lucrative for law firms.

James Coughlan and Terrence Wikberg have joined Holland & Knight’s Washington, D.C., office, and Amy Simpson joined the Los Angeles office earlier this month, bringing experience with the International Trade Commission and Patent Office post-grant review proceedings, the firm said Wednesday. Simpson was previously a co-chair of the post-grant proceedings practice and Coughlan was co-chair of the ITC litigation group at Perkins Coie.
