A physician's recent examination of Judge Pauline Newman found "no significant cognitive deficits" in the 96-year-old jurist whose colleagues have launched an investigation into her ability to carry out judicial duties, according to a filing she submitted in federal court Tuesday seeking to restore her case load.
Newman, who sits on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, was examined last week by Ted Rothstein, a professor of neurology and rehabilitation medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences, said her attorney, Greg Dolin of the New Civil Liberties Alliance.
