The full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit voted against reviewing a suspended Baltimore criminal defense lawyer’s money laundering conviction in a Friday order featuring a concurrence and dissent that showcased divisions among the judges on a constitutional issue.

Nine of the court’s 14 active judges voted against reconsidering the conviction of Murphy, Falcon & Murphy attorney Kenneth Ravenell for conspiring to commit money laundering in relation to his legal work for several Baltimore drug dealers in the early 2000s.
