Online business and tech industry groups are urging the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit to rehear a panel ruling that allows software company Salesforce to be sued for allegedly participating in a sex-trafficking scheme by providing services to the now-defunct Backpage.com.

“It’s a bad decision, and one that should not be allowed to continue to guide other courts,” said Ambika Kumar, a Davis Wright Tremaine partner representing advocacy groups Netchoice and Chamber of Progress as amici supporting Salesforce’s bid to have the case heard en banc.
