A 96-year-old judge’s lawsuit that seeks to stop an investigation into her competency should be dismissed, a special committee leading the probe urged a U.S. District Court on Friday.

In a 67-page motion, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit panel said the federal law that governs judicial misconduct—the Judicial Conduct and Disability Act—bars judicial review of the panel’s challenged decisions, such as to not transfer the investigation to another circuit.
