Law firm hiring from the government remains active as demand has grown within litigation and regulatory practices in recent quarters. Both Foley Hoag and Steptoe & Johnson announced partner additions from the federal government this past week.

Foley Hoag brought on former Biden administration official Beth Neitzel to its litigation team. Meanwhile, Steptoe & Johnson has hired Andrew Adams, former acting deputy assistant attorney general for the Department of Justice's national security division, to its investigations and white-collar defense practice in New York.
