The U.S. Supreme Court debated Wednesday whether it should decide an important Americans with Disabilities Act appeal now that the case is moot, with an irritated Chief Justice John Roberts Jr. accusing the plaintiff of manipulating the court's docket to avoid an adverse ruling.
The case Acheson Hotels LLC v. Laufer centers on whether testers can use the ADA to sue hotels that they have no intent of visiting for having allegedly violated the law's accessibility requirements.
