A former federal judge urged a U.S. Judiciary committee Friday to reexamine evidence admissability rules amid the emerging threat of AI-generated "deepfakes."

"Artificial intelligence algorithms are already being used right now in every facet of our lives," said Paul Grimm, who sat on the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. "And it's inevitable that what's going to happen is in the litigation of cases, judges are going to have to deal with the admissibility of this evidence."
