A former IT employee is suing Kirkland & Ellis, alleging the firm ignored complaints of racial discrimination, underpaid him and fired him as retaliation for reporting the discrimination.

Tyrone Gibson, the former IT employee, worked at Kirkland’s Washington office for over four years before the firm fired him in April. The suit, filed in District of Columbia Superior Court in October before Kirkland removed it to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Thursday, claims the firm turned a blind eye on a racist comment directed at Gibson along with other instances of harassment shortly after the initial comment then fired him when he officially reported the incident.
