Law firms in Washington, D.C., are on track for a successful year, profiting from increased demand for antitrust and regulatory practices and surging billing rates in the first nine months of this year, according to bank survey of law firms.

Gross revenue was up 6.2% for firms in D.C., higher than the industry average of 4.6%, as the average standard billing rates in D.C. rose 9.4% compared with the industry average of 7.9%, according to Wells Fargo’s Legal Specialty Group’s nine-month survey results, which included eight firms headquartered in the D.C. region.
