The political world’s attention will turn to the U.S. Supreme Court on the morning of Feb. 8 for a historic hearing on whether former President Donald Trump is eligible to return to the White House.

The Supreme Court has called a special session to hear the politically explosive case, in which the justices are reviewing a Colorado Supreme Court decision disqualifying Trump from office over his role in the events of Jan. 6, 2021. The state high court found Trump had “engaged in insurrection” and is therefore barred from the presidency under Section 3 of the Constitution’s Fourteenth Amendment.
