The former head of the National Rifle Association, Wayne LaPierre, failed to consult with his internal legal team before launching the nonprofit’s biggest legal fights over the last decade, the organization’s general counsel testified Tuesday.

Under direct examination by Assistant Attorney General Emily Stern, John Frazer told jurors that the ex-CEO did not inform him before authorizing a lawsuit against one of the NRA’s biggest vendors or filing for bankruptcy.
