Virginia-headquartered firm Williams Mullen managed to increase its revenue and saw an even faster rise in its profitability last year, despite taking in groups of laterals.

The firm increased its gross revenue by 5.6% last year to $170.9 million. And even with the firm’s head count rising by 2.4% to about 231 lawyers, revenue per lawyer ticked up 3% to $741,000.
