Lawsuits filed in single-judge divisions and which seek to bar state or federal actions will be randomly assigned among all the judges in the district where the case is lodged.

The U.S. Judicial Conference adopted a policy on Tuesday to prevent judge shopping in single-judge divisions, following Democratic lawmakers' concerns that litigants challenging Biden administration actions strategically file in the divisions to end up with a sympathetic judge hearing their cases.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
