The Virginia Supreme Court found a group of Loudoun County homeowners had no authority to restrict a neighboring company’s commercial land use privileges as a wedding venue, affirming a state appeals court decision that overturned a trial court judgment.

“Unlike most of the other lots in Berkeley Chase, Lot 5 was expressly excepted from the original restriction that prohibited most commercial activities in the subdivision,” the Virginia Supreme Court said Thursday in a written opinion favoring the hospitality company Dorcon Group LLC.
