The U.S. Supreme Court next term will consider a dispute between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and more than 200 hospitals about their Medicare reimbursement rates for treating senior and disabled low-income patients.

The justices granted a petition for review Monday in Advocate Christ Medical Center v. Becerra. The question presented is whether patients eligible for supplemental security income must currently be receiving SSI benefits for a hospital to claim a higher Medicare reimbursement from HHS.
