Large law firms are continuing to add bankruptcy partners, as higher interest rates and economic uncertainty help trigger a number of restructuring and financing matters well into 2024.

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman is the latest in the Am Law 200 to build its bankruptcy bench, adding this week partner Michael Burke in New York from Sidley Austin, where he was a partner. Pillsbury said Burke’s addition helps the firm’s ability to support distressed entities and he has a particular emphasis on aviation and cross-border matters.
