The U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday threw out a lawsuit claiming Biden administration officials unconstitutionally coerced social media platforms to remove protected speech under the guise of “misinformation,” with the court finding the plaintiffs lacked standing.

In its 6-3 decision, the high court held in Murthy v. Missouri that a group of Republican states and individuals have no legal basis to seek an injunction against federal officials over their efforts to get platforms like X, Facebook and YouTube to take down alleged misinformation.
