A Los Angeles federal court jury on Thursday held the National Football League liable for $4.7 billion in damages to members of a class action who accused the NFL of overcharging subscribers to its “Sunday Ticket” streaming service over a 12-year period.
Because triple damages can be awarded in federal antitrust cases, the number may balloon to over $14 billion. The jury announced its verdict one day after hearing closing arguments.
