U.S. Treasury general counsel Neil MacBride has stepped down from his post after roughly two and half years advising Secretary Janet Yellen on economics, tax policy and financial crimes enforcement.

MacBride broke the news on LinkedIn, writing that last week marked the end of his tenure with the department, and that he “was so honored to spend the last several years working with the incredible 2,000 lawyers in the Treasury Legal Division and with Addar Levi and Eric Nguyen, my two outstanding Deputy General Counsels. So grateful to Secretary Yellen for her incredible leadership of this historic agency during challenging times.”
