An animal cruelty lawsuit filed by Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher seeks to overturn a U.S. Department of Agriculture licensing decision that permits an Idaho wildlife park to exhibit bears in inhumane conditions for a profit, according to the allegations in the complaint.

The USDA in February 2023 issued an exhibitor’s license to Yellowstone Bear World “with full knowledge that bottle feeding, maternal deprivation, and inhumane handling are practices that regularly occur and have regularly occurred for decades,” Gibson Dunn alleges in the complaint submitted on behalf of the nonprofit Animal Legal Defense Fund.
