Miller & Chevalier has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Syria on allegations the Middle East nation had abducted, detained and killed a U.S. citizen as a state sponsor of terrorism liable under U.S. federal law.

Representing the widow, adult children and sister of Majd Kamalmaz, an American psychologist who died in Syrian custody, Miller & Chevalier demands a damages award of at least $70 million in District of Columbia federal court under an exception to the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act.
