Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro has filed an antitrust class action accusing Valve Corp. of maintaining an unlawful monopoly in the PC video-game distribution and in-game payment processing markets.
Best known for its Steam PC gaming marketplace and the Half-Life video-game series, Valve is accused of operating an “anticompetitive scheme” imposing a price floor across the entire market and forcing consumers to pay inflated prices for popular game titles.
