Judges should restrict law clerks from pursuing post-clerkship jobs with political organizations while they’re still employed by the federal courts, the U.S. judiciary stated Thursday in an updated ethical guidance.
The Judicial Conference Committee on Codes of Conduct said the ethics advisory opinion was adopted because of the risk of associating judicial chambers with political activity.
