Federal regulators resignedly said Wednesday that they will use existing law to combat the bad actors who use the advancing technology of artificial intelligence to deceive consumers and individuals, as more up-to-date statutes have yet to be enacted.
"We have the tools that we have," Rohit Chopra, director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, said at the Aspen Cyber Summit sponsored by the Aspen Institute in Washington, D.C.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
