U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh spoke about the importance of being thick-skinned amid blistering criticism during a rare public appearance Thursday in Washington ahead of the upcoming high court term.
"Be not afraid" is the lifelong lesson Kavanaugh said he took from a former grade school teacher he has come to rely on as a jurist.
