A sound engineer and producer of Fleetwood Mac's album "Rumours" filed a lawsuit this week in New York federal court alleging that the Tony Award-winning play "Stereophonic" infringed on his memoir chronicling the album's production.

On Tuesday, Greenberg Gross, based in Costa Mesa, California, filed a copyright infringement claim for record producer Kenneth Caillat and writer Steven Stiefel, co-authors of the 2012 memoir "Making Rumours: The Inside Story of the Classic Fleetwood Mac Album," in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in the case Caillat v. Adjmi . They claim the play "Stereophonic" infringed on their memoir through its set design, dialogue and characters to portray a similar account of how Caillat produced "Rumours."
