Steptoe will be brought into a long-running sex discrimination suit that two married former Jones Day associates are waging against the firm for damages discovery, with the case set to go to trial next November.

A federal judge in Washington, D.C. set the trial date for early November 2025 during a status conference on Wednesday, establishing a timeline for a third-party discovery period to addressing remaining points of contention in the case, though both sides continue to dispute the scope of discovery. Steptoe will be roped into the case because it currently employs the attorney whose termination from Jones Day prompted the suit.
