As the revolving door between the federal government and law firms stays active in 2024, recruiters are anticipating a busy lateral period in the final months of the year going into early 2025. Government lawyer moves to law firms may pick up even more if GOP nominee Donald Trump wins back the White House.
If Democratic nominee Kamala Harris wins though, some government lawyers have indicated that they may stay in public service longer, noted Washington, D.C.-based legal recruiter Amy Savage.
