The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission released its exam priorities for 2025, which attorneys who litigate cases under the agency's jurisdiction said focuses and builds on the regulator's traditional themes and interests.

"Even as the SEC is calling out and paying special attention to particular market trends, like the continued increase in dual registrants or the use of [artificial intelligence], it is generally doing so through that familiar rubric," said Helen Gugel, a New York partner at Ropes & Gray in the firm's litigation and enforcement practice.
