Litigation funders faced off against a skeptical member of the defense bar amid growing calls for state and federal legislation that would mandate transparency in litigation finance agreements during a panel discussion Monday at New York University School of Law's Center on Civil Justice.
The discussion homed in on the fraught debate over whether litigants must disclose funding arrangements as well as the reasons both proponents and opponents continue to have trouble finding common ground on regulating the growing industry.
