The U.S. Senate confirmed federal magistrate judge Embry Kidd to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit on Monday.

Kidd, confirmed on a 49-45 vote, will be President Joe Biden’s second appointee to the federal appeals court that covers Alabama, Florida and Georgia. In 2023, the Senate confirmed Nancy Abudu, a former Southern Poverty Law Center attorney, to the circuit.
