A new name has emerged on President-elect Donald Trump’s Am Law 100 partner shortlist to potentially replace Gary Gensler before the end of his five-year term as U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission chairperson, a source with knowledge of the matter confirmed.

Teresa Goody Guillén, a partner at Baker & Hostetler and co-lead of the firm’s blockchain practice, joins a trio of formidable finalists in the Am Law 100 whom Trump is considering for SEC chairperson, including Brad Bondi of Paul Hastings, Norm Champ of Kirkland & Ellis and Robert Stebbins of Willkie Farr & Gallagher. Among the top requirements for the position is a drastically different stance and relationship with the top crypto companies than Gensler had.
