Holland & Knight, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, Barnes & Thornburg, Crowell & Moring and Day Pitney announced lateral hires in their Washington, D.C., office this week, bringing new attorneys into their energy, lobbying and public policy, corporate and international trade practices.

The moves come as some firm leaders in D.C. are expecting big changes in their regulatory practices starting next year, with practices such as international trade, national security, lobbying, among those that could see increased activity under Donald Trump's regulatory agenda.
