The Senate Judiciary Committee's Democratic staff has published their findings from a 20-month investigation into alleged ethical lapses by members of the U.S. Supreme Court, asserting that several justices—past and present—violated the law.

The report, compiled by the majority staff, claims the Supreme Court has been "embroiled in an ethical crisis of its own making for well over a decade.” The report is likely to be dismissed outright by Republicans, who will take control of the Senate next month, as an attempt to delegitimize the court because of its recent conservative decisions.
