Former U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin called climate change an urgent issue but declined to say the United States should reduce its reliance on fossil fuels during his confirmation hearing Thursday to be the next administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
“I believe that climate change is real,” but environmental policies should not come at the expense of economic growth, Zeldin told the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
