Just days before President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration, U.S. International Trade Commission Commissioner Rhonda Schmidtlein is resigning from the government, joining Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr as a partner.

The ITC said in a statement Thursday that Schmidtlein will step down on Feb. 1 from the commission. Wilmer later announced in a statement that Schmidtlein will join the firm as a partner in its international trade, investment and market access practice group based in Washington, D.C. in April.
